State of American Philanthropy

The State of American Philanthropy is a series of reports about various grantmaking landscapes, and their current trends, in U.S. philanthropy. The reports draw on interviews with philanthropic and nonprofit leaders, grant data, and other sources to illuminate what’s going on in dozens of distinct philanthropic spaces. Inside Philanthropy is constantly expanding and updating the series as part of our ongoing mission to explain who is funding what, how, and why.
