Substance use disorders and addiction intersect with many causes addressed by philanthropy; however, this has been a challenging space to fund. – and nearly half the U.S. population has a friend or family member who has struggled with addiction – this has been a challenging issue for philanthropy. Inside Philanthropy’s State of American Philanthropy report on this funding landscape draws on grant data and interviews with experts to provide an overview of this complex philanthropic space.
